Get to know me

My name is Carson

Nice to meet you!

Texas to London

San Antonio, Oxford, and London

  1. 01San Antonio, Texas

    Where it starts

I grew up in San Antonio, a city with a rich history and strong ties to its Mexican and Texan heritage — the Alamo, the River Walk. It also has a fantastic brand, and the people at Visit San Antonio who built its visual identity still impress me. I'm incredibly proud to be from there, and its colourful, culturally rich history is still an inspiration for my creative work.

    Finding the path

I knew I wanted to leave my home state for university. A close friend at Ole Miss would not stop raving about it, so I visited, and understood why. I fell for the small-town southern culture, and for a degree Ole Miss built itself — Integrated Marketing Communications, which covered marketing, branding, advertising and PR in one. It's where I found the career I wanted, marketing and branding.

    Finding my spark

After a family trip, I went back alone for a three-week summer course at the University of Westminster. I arrived shy and barely brave enough to do it on my own; I left a different person, with a confidence I hadn't had before. The next summer I came back for two months as a marketing communications intern at Meeko Teams — commuting, making friends, the Euros, Wimbledon, music festivals — and fell in love with the city for good.

    Building something here

I knew I wanted to build something for myself in London, and a master's was the way to do it. While finishing my degree I applied to postgraduate programmes, writing and rewriting personal statements and joining virtual information sessions at 5 and 6am. I chose Westminster for the community I'd already found there, and in September 2025 I packed up my life in Texas and moved. I haven't looked back.

My values

Three things I will not trade away.

Values are easy to list and hard to prove, so each of these comes with the moment it showed up.

Authenticity

How I live authentically

I moved to London wanting to blend in and become a proper Londoner — and I still wear my boots and Texas hat around the city, proudly. Being yourself is the strongest brand you have, and it's what I look for in the brands I build. For Chicky Collective, "authentic" was one of the first words on the page.

Integrity

Why integrity shows in the work

I'm careful to say exactly what was mine. Chicky Collective belongs to my friend CB — her product, her business — and the identity is what I designed for it. At Meeko the logo and the navy came before me, so I don't claim them. Credit where it's due is part of doing good work.

Creativity

Where creativity takes me

It started with a bottlecap necklace I wore to school before our primary-school business fair, which sold us out before the doors opened. When I care about something I get lost in it, and the ideas don't stop until I'm satisfied — sometimes I'm never satisfied.

My interests

What I am like when I am not working.

Exploring London

People always ask me "why London?", and my answer is always the same — all the things you can spontaneously do on a random day. A West End show, a park, a historic site I grew up learning about, a concert, a new restaurant. Most mornings start with a two-hour walk.

Still very Texan

I wear my boots and Texas hat around the city proudly. People here think I ride a horse to the grocery store; I find it amusing, and it only deepens my love for home.

Collecting campaigns

I'm constantly conceptualising marketing ideas for the products and brands I use every day, real or imagined, and I may talk about good advertising more than my friends would like.

Hosting

I love hosting — I'd happily be a professional party host, and I think I could win an award for it. My custom invitations started here.

Cooking

I love to cook, and I'm yet to meet anyone who makes a better sandwich than I do. A true sandwich artist.

Signature style

I've spent years perfecting a signature style. The goal is for friends to see a piece and say "that's so Carson" — and be right. I never leave the house without my nails painted, usually to match the outfit.

Golf

I've played golf since I was little.
